The meaning of my name
What is in a name?
A person's name is shorthand for who they are; their identity, what they stand for, their purpose. My own name, David Lewis Brand, encapsulates mine:
David: A beloved child of God
Lewis: A warrior for social justice
Brand: Powered by an unquenchable fire that burns brightly in my heart
Together, these three names aren't just labels I carry. They're the foundation of everything I write, speak about, and stand for.
This is not about having all the answers. It's about being willing to ask better questions and move forward with purpose.
Personal journey
My Story
Throughout the adventure of my life I've been inspired by stories of countless men and women who've fought for positive social change, people who've been prepared to suffer for their cause and have refused to let others stop them, or anyone else, from living their lives as fully as possible.
It's impossible to quantify how important the testimonies of these often ordinary-looking people have been to me during my own journey. They've shaped my perspective, sharpened my purpose, and fuelled the fire that drives my work today.
My greatest passion is that every person is not only given the opportunity to explore, develop, and express the unique, bespoke individual they've been created to be to the fullest extent possible, but that they are actively celebrated and championed in doing so.

Vision
My hope and prayer is that I can now pass a similar baton of inspiration on to you, sharing stories from my ever-unfolding adventure through life, and from some of the eclectic range of folk I've had the privilege to meet along the way.
To be passionate about something means, by definition, to be willing to suffer for it. Life gets challenging for everyone at times; there's no avoiding that uncomfortable truth. But the deeper your understanding of who you are, the better equipped you'll be to live out your purpose as fully as possible, whatever circumstances you face.
That, for me, is what going well is all about.
